Dr. Amanda Wilms
PANS and PANDAS

PANS and PANDAS are infection-induced autoimmune conditions that can impact both children and adults. The autoimmune reaction and resulting inflammation typically disrupt normal neurologic functioning causing symptoms such as rage, obsessive-compulsive disorder, tics or purposeless motor movements, anxiety, irritability, lowered immunity, and urinary problems. The symptoms can appear abruptly and last until treatment is initiated or follow a relapsing-remitting pattern. Testing includes basic blood work, infectious disease testing, and specialized tests, including the Neural Zoomer and Cunningham Panel. The course of treatment is dependent on the severity of the case, but always includes both treating infections and calming the immune system’s inflammatory response. Prognosis is generally good, and many cases resolve entirely with appropriate treatment. Comorbid conditions, environmental factors, and genetics all play a role in long term outcomes.

Dr. Tara Boyd
Cannabis Use in Neurological Syndromes

The one place we expect to have control is within our minds. We hope that when everything else fails, we at least know our brain. For far too many of us, that is not the reality. Neurological disorders affect millions of people every day, and far too many suffer without any treatment. Dr. Tara Boyd is here to offer a possible solution. There is new exciting research into how cannabis might be used in several neurological syndromes, including but not limited to Autism, PTSD, and other challenging diagnoses. Dr. Tara is going to go through the research and tell us all not only how the research can be applied, but also what this information will do for your life.

Dr. Matt Solbrig
Neural Therapy Bee Venom Therapy FSM

Dr. Matt Solbrig is a primary care physician and naturopath who is working to change how the world approaches health. Today every patient is presented with a challenging decision-making process of navigating through the diverse naturopathic and holistic approaches to the chronic disease they are exposed to. Dr. Matt strives to guide the clinical decision-making process while maintaining his passion for empowering each patient’s inner healing journey. His part in this course is on the different types of therapies chronically ill patients may try, including but not limited to Neural Therapies, Bee Venom, and even Frequency Specific Microcurrents. Dr. Matt will endeavor not only to explain what these treatments are but how they help to bring the body back to a state of health.

Dr. Summer Beattie
Regenerative Medical Options for Patients with Lyme

Dr. Summer Beattie is a naturopathic doctor who is helping to pave the way for new and inventive treatments for patients who are struggling with Lyme. Lyme is a pervasive infection that affects every aspect of a person’s life and leaves them without any energy to continue their lives. Dr. Summer is working to find ways to help the body not only heal itself but to be even better than it was before the disease claimed it.

Dr. Kara Nakisbendi
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

Many of our patients with chronic illness have also been diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Multiple theories exist on the best way to manage this aspect of their disease. Some experts feel if you treat the underlying cause, MCAS will resolve. Others say it has to always be treated even when the original cause is long gone. We address MCAS in a good percentage of our patients, and it can be challenging.

Most importantly, it needs to be recognized early in the process. Being aware of the possibility that MCAS could be affecting you is the first step to making sure that this is getting addressed in your protocols. One typical presentation in our patients who have MCAS is that they are unable to tolerate any protocols until their MCAS symptoms are managed first. Or, they have been on protocols for several months to years and still have the same constellation of symptoms. In this webinar, we will review what we know about the science behind MCAS, help you identify what your “core” MCAS symptoms are, discuss an integrative approach to treating MCAS and what are the most common underlying causes of MCAS that we see.

Dr. Jadie Ko-Lee
Healing Brain Inflammation

Many chronically ill patients, as well as healthy individuals, are dealing with varying degrees of low-grade brain inflammations. In this session, Dr. Ko will review the symptoms and causes of brain inflammation and brain fog and what we can do to treat it and prevent it.

Dr. Debbie L’Estrange
Unresolved Psycho-emotional Trauma and Health

Memories connected to a physical or emotional trauma are held in parts of the brain as engrams. These nonconscious memories can influence our homeostasis prohibiting normal body function if not resolved. Stored trauma can manifest as physical patterns such as low back pain and headaches, or as low self-esteem and unworthiness.

For years, Chinese medicine has known that emotions and physical health are intimately related. Anger, grief, fear, and shame are each associated with a particular organ of the body resulting in dis-ease. For example, the liver stores the emotion anger. Years of anger changes the physiology of the organ resulting in poor detoxification. Clearing the unresolved feelings of anger can lift the stress of the organ allowing better function of the organ.

Stored emotional patterns can interfere with the patient’s protocol and overall health. Why do some patients bounce back while others suffer unrelentingly? Unresolved psycho-emotional traumas may play a part. When you lift the old patterns releasing stress, shifts in healing can occur.
