Dr. Wilms graduated from Bastyr University with a doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, receiving a B.S in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. During school, she completed advanced training in intravenous therapy, neural therapy, botanical medicine, and environmental medicine.

She attended rotations at Evergreen Hospital, the Tulalip Health Clinic, low income clinics such as the YWCA and Carolyn Downs, as well as primary care rotations through the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She has gained further inspiration in working with Natural Doctors International, an NGO that brings free naturopathic health care to under-served communities in Nicaragua.

Prior to her arrival, Dr. Wilms was in private practice as a general family practitioner in Everett, Washington. She completed a residency at this location with a focus on nutrient IV therapy and cardiovascular health.
